FAQ

  • What’s the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic coatings?

Both are high-performance floor coatings, but polyaspartic cures faster, is more UV-stable (won’t yellow over time), and is typically more flexible and durable than traditional epoxy. At PolyVex, we often use a combination — epoxy for the base coat and polyaspartic as the topcoat — to give you the best of both worlds.

  • How long does the floor take to cure, and when can I use it?

Most floors are ready for light foot traffic within 24 hours and vehicle traffic within 48–72 hours, depending on the coating system used. Polyaspartic systems cure faster, sometimes allowing next-day use. *Please note that this also varies based on factors such as coating thickness and air temperature.

  • How long will my epoxy or polyaspartic floor last?

With proper surface prep and professional installation, your floor can last 10–20 years or more, especially in residential settings. We use industrial-grade materials that resist peeling, cracking, and fading.

  • Will it increase my home or property value?

Yes. A clean, finished garage or workspace with a premium floor coating adds curb appeal, improves functionality, and shows buyers or tenants that the property is well cared for — all of which can increase resale value.

  • What’s the process like from start to finish?

First, we grind and clean the concrete to ensure a strong bond. Next, we repair cracks or pits, apply your chosen base coat, broadcast flakes or metallics (if applicable), and finish with a durable topcoat. Most jobs are completed in 1–3 days, depending on the size and system used.

  • What are the main benefits of epoxy and polyaspartic coatings?

These floors are durable, stain- and chemical-resistant, easy to clean, slip-resistant, and look incredible. They’re ideal for garages, commercial spaces, patios, and showrooms — anywhere you want performance and style in one seamless surface.
